This is a new and very interesting tour from Rome to Palermo, traveling through South of Italy means to live an unforgettable experience. You can appreciate the Italian people soul and go back to the Norman Times visiting Palermo and Monreale. From Segesta to Selinus and Agrigento, where temples whisper you the history of the old Magna Grecia, you will reach the city of Aretusia – Syracuse - where you will be fascinated by the inebriating scents and colors of the Mediterranean sea. From the cave of Polyphemus to the romantic burg of Taormina, you will know the power of the smoky Volcano Etna and, finally, you will visit Cefalù,  splendid fishermen’s village with its huge Norman Cathedral, coming back to Palermo where the tour will end.

Please note: The tour begins in Rome and ends in Palermo, airfares are not included, you will need to book your own flight arrangements into Rome Italy ( any airport ) on the selected departure date ( Day 1 of the tour ) and flying out from Palermo at the end of the tour ( Day 12, see below )

Day 01 – (Thursday) Rome
Arrival At Rome on your own. Day at leisure.  Arrival at the Hotel and overnight.

Day 02 – (Friday) Rome / Naples / Pompeii / Sorrento
Breakfast at the Hotel. After leaving Rome, the coach will take the " Sun Route " motorway, driving through the regions of Lazio and Campania, with a view of the Abbey of Montecassino. Upon arrival in Naples there will be a short panoramic city tour : Mergellina, Castel dell'Ovo Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino and the port. Lunch in a restaurant on our way to Pompeii and then visit of the excavations of the famous Roman city , destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Leaving Pompeii and driving along the Sorrentine coastal, arrival in Sorrento. Dinner and overnight in the Hotel.

Day 03 – (Saturday) Sorrento / Capri / Sorrento
After breakfast we board the boat for the Island of Capri, where, weather and sea conditions permitting, we will visit the Blue Grotta in small rowing boats. Lunch in a restaurant and free time for personal activities. Return to Sorrento, Dinner and Overnight in  the Hotel.

Day 04  (Sunday) Sorrento / Palermo
Breakfast at the Hotel and morning at leisure. In the afternoon departure towards Naples harbour to board on the Tirrenia Ferry Boat to Palermo. Overnight on boat.

Day 05 – (Monday) Palermo
Arrival and transfer from the pear to the hotel. Day at leisure. Dinner and overnights
.

Day 06 (Tuesday ) Palermo / Monreale / Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit of the town of Palermo  that includes: the Chapel Palatine , the Cathedral of Palermo and the Cathedral of Monreale and its Clauster. Lunch. In the In the afternoon free time to spare with an optional excursion  of the city of: the  Catacombe of the Priets Cappuccini, Mondello and some of the most typical downtowns of the City Centre. Dinner and overnights at the hotel.

Day 07 (Wednesday) Palermo / Selinunte / Agrigento
Breakfast at the hotel and then departure to Selinunte. After the visit of this archaeological site, lunch in a restaurant near the seaside.  We will proceed to Agrigento, the "most beautiful city of the human beings", where, nowadays, you can admire ten doricos temples that are on the valley. We will visit The Temples Valley: Accommodation to the hotel in Agrigento. Visit of the "Valle dei Templi" by night, enlightened. Dinner and overnight.

Day 08 (Thursday) Agrigento / Piazza Armerina / Ragusa / Noto / Siracusa
After the breakfast, departure to Piazza Armerina: in the heart of the island and popular for the splendid Roman Villa del Casale, luxurious roman dwelling, one of the most important roman proof in Sicily. The wonderful mosaics that cover the floors, illustrate the habits and costumes of the roman way of living. Continuation  to  Ragusa. Lunch in a typical restaurant and then: visit of Ragusa Ibla, the capital of the famous Sicilian Baroque. We will continue to Noto: Symbolic city of the “Sicilian Baroque”. In the evening arrival to Siracusa. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 09 (Friday) Siracusa
Breakfast at the hotel and then departure to  visit  Siracusa:

founded between 734 – 733 b. C. It is in a splendid position in the east of the Sicilian coast; it stretches out over the sea with the island of Ortigia, where the major testimonies of its glorious past are: The Minerva Temple, today a catholic church, the legendary Arethusa Fountain, Apollo Temple, the Greek Theatre, the  Roman Anfitheatre near the Latomie and the Ear of Dionysus. Return to the hotel, Lunch. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 (Saturday) Siracusa / Etna / Taormina  Region of Taormina
Breakfast to the hotel and then departure to Mount Etna: it is the highest active volcano in Europe (3345 mt).The bus will bring you up to the “Rifugio Sapienza” 1800 m. Visit of the extinguished Craters of Mounts Silvestri. Wonderful variety of fauna and flora and  moony landscapes can be seen on the way. The special ambient created during the centuries under nature, culture and history is inimitable all over the world. We will proceed to a restaurant where we will taste the most special sicilian dishes. Continuation to Taormina: pretty and romantic town on the Mount Tauro (204 mt). Spare time to visit  the famous Greek Theatre with a splendid view of the Mount Etna and the Ionian sea or to do shopping and to stroll through the picturesque lanes of the city centre.  Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 Sunday : Region of Taormina – Messina – Cefalù - Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Messina, sightseeing tour of the city and its famous Cathedral. Continuation to a farmhouse or restaurant to lunch very typical products of the island. We will proceed to Cefalù: splendid fishermen’s village and seaside resort. Visit of the huge Norman Cathedral, founded in 1131 by Roger II and of the Medieval Lavatory. Time at leisure to stroll through the narrow lanes of the historic centre full of shops and restaurants. Transfer to Palermo, dinner and overnight to the hotel.       

Day 12 Monday: Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. End of our service
